Child & Adolescents Services

 The Child and Adolescent Services offer an integrated, variety of interventions to improve the mental health of children, adolescents, and their families.

 WHO: Children and Adolescents ranging in age from infancy to 21 years.

 WHAT: Psychiatric evaluations, ongoing therapy, group therapy, play therapy, parent counseling and guidance, after care services following a hospitalization, medication management, and outreach services to area schools and agencies.

 WHEN: Clinic hours include: Monday and Wednesday 8:00am to 6:00pm; Tuesday and Thursday 8:00am   to 8:00pm; Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.

 WHERE: 4308 Harford Road, Baltimore, MD 21214

 HOW: All services are individualized and based on the needs of the client. All services are delivered by a diverse knowledgeable clinical staff consisting of Psychiatrists and Master's Degree Mental Health Therapists.

FEES:

Harford-Belair works closely with clients to devise a fee that is appropriate for the individual. No one will be refused service because of an inability to pay. Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Medicare, Medical Assistance and most private insurance will provide reimbursement for services rendered.

SPECIALTY PROGRAMS

In School Counseling Program: This program is a joint effort of Hamilton Elementary School and Harford-Belair Mental Health Center to provide preventative mental health services to children in the school who are at risk of developing emotional disorders or impaired school performance.

Futures Program: This program is designed to focus on those youths identified as being at risk for dropping out of school. A staff member will provide mental health assessment, case management and consultation at Northern High School. This program is sponsored by the Baltimore City Office of Employment Development.

Intensive Group Therapy: Provides intensive daily group treatment to promote the social, educational, intellectual and psychological growth of the child. Active family participation is required.

Mobile Treatment Program: This program is an in-home assertive community treatment service that provides quality psychiatric care to children who have a serious mental disorder and are unable or unwilling to come to a clinic for traditional outpatient services.
